Dr. Dean M. Nelson is a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Nationally Certified Acupuncturist. He is founder of WindHorse HealthCare, the Kailua Shambhala Meditation Center and author of Don’t Waste Pain. He has taught mindfulness meditation and human potential seminars for 35 years internationally.
He studied with the renown Tibetan Meditation Master Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche for 13 years, from 1974 until Rinpoche’s death in 1987. He has taught to as diverse of groups as first graders, Medical Doctors, Marines, Veterans and prison inmates.
He has been interviewed on T.V., radio and for the newspaper. Before his career in healthcare he was a professional dancer and holds an M.F.A. in Choreography from University of Utah and a B. A. from University of Hawaii. He has a son, is married and lives in Kailua, Hawaii.
